Great post, thank you…But, Microsoft’s original mission was to see “a PC on every desktop and every home” which was very focused and required low cost Intel chips married with Windows and Office to make it happen. I think that was a big bold goal…

If that was the goal once, it's certainly not now. It's worth noting that not all companies live up to their stated values and vision.

Another issue with Microsoft having little vision is that they end up being a MeToo company, copying other companies that have clearer visions and values and that generally do engineering better. I recommend this video, it's hilarious how they have been turning Windows into Frankenstein over the years by trying to copy everyone (mostly Google and Apple):
